Course Description

This PD demonstrates how language teachers can use ChatGPT to assist them in their everyday practice.


You will be walked through the process of using ChatGPT to: 

  • create stimulus texts tailored to context

  • create tasks for Stage 6 in-school assessment

  • create sample responses for moderating purposes

  • design activities based on texts:
    • comprehension/multiple choice questions
    • gap fill
    • spot the error

  • create tiered texts on one topic for differentiation purposes

  • integrate other online applications to create audio files for listening comprehension tasks


You will also also learn how to use the platform to create:

  • Marking rubrics

  • Course descriptions for handbooks 

  • Report comments

  • Excursion notes and risk assessments

Advice and frameworks are also provided to guide teachers in writing their own prompts.

Alison Dean

Alison is the owner/director of ADECS Consultancy Services and the Head of Languages at Mount St Benedict College in Sydney. She is a former Languages consultant for the AISNSW, and has held executive roles in Languages, Curriculum and Professional Learning both here and abroad. She has authored courses on Language methodology and ICT integration for the University of Sydney and is a current syllabus and examination writer for NESA.

Alison holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and a Graduate Certificate in International Education (International Baccalaureate), as well as a Bachelor of Languages and a Graduate Diploma in Education (LOTE/TESOL).
