Meeting the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
All TTA courses are aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and may be used towards teachers' continuing professional development.
Teachers may submit their completion of a TTA professional development course as a Teacher Identified PL for registration purposes.

The Teachers Registration Act of Tasmania does not require Tasmanian teachers to undertake a set number of hours of professional learning, nor does it require professional learning to have been accredited against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Tasmanian teachers can attend any relevant professional learning and be in a position to count it towards either renewal processes or their progression to registration.

Any TTA courses completed by teachers that develop their professional knowledge and practice to support student learning and are relevant to their teaching context can be counted as professional learning.
Teachers will need to be currently registered with VIT as a registered teacher for their PD to contribute to their annual registration.
