Course Description
Are you seeing a big difference in children’s skills in the areas of communication and socio-emotional skills after COVID lockdowns? You are not alone! Research indicates that the early years of development have been greatly affected by the pandemic and the results are significant for our early communicators.
In this PD, we examine the research on the development of communication skills and socio-emotional skills in children who were in infancy during the lockdown and masked periods of COVID.
We then take a practical approach on how to fill these gaps of learning and development with practical tips, strategies and evidence-based techniques that you can use in your classroom and early education centres.
Amy Pollitt and Ruth Davies are speech pathologists who are passionate about bridging the gap between health and education. They believe that the biggest change for children will come from allied health practitioners, early childhood educators and teachers working together.
Target Audience
Early childhood educators, teachers and learning support staff that are working in the first two years of formal schooling.
