General Description

Whether online or in classroom, teachers need to teach in more than one ‘dimension’. What students hear is only one dimension of the learning experience – and arguably the least powerful. What students see and do are also vital to comprehension and engagement. In this practical session, Dr Rich Allen will model how to use all four ‘dimensions’ of the educational experience, including the fourth dimension – the great wall of silence, where some of the most profound learning moments occur. The session covers specific strategies for each dimension, empowering teachers to deliver dynamic lessons that immerse students in learning – and improve understanding and recall.

The 4 Dimensions of Dynamic Teaching

Around one in five Australian school students don’t find school
engaging, which means they are less likely to learn properly. It’s an issue that tends to worsen as students become older. A recent study showed that in year 7, 70% of students observed found school engaging, but in year 9, this dropped to 55%. Disengagement has resulted in Australian classrooms becoming rowdier and increasing school dropout rates. This course offers teachers practical strategies to help engage students more effectively in the classroom and online.

Dr Rich Allen

Creator

Dr. Rich Allen is a highly regarded educator and master trainer, with a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. His cognitive learning theory research, which provided understanding on how the brain receives, processes, stores, and recalls information, forms the basis for his radical approach to teaching, presenting and facilitating.

In 25 years of taking his ideas around the world, he has changed the lives of tens thousands of educators and executives, by giving them practical new presentation and teaching techniques that massively increase personal effectiveness.

A former high school math and drama teacher, Rich was a Director and Lead Facilitator for SuperCamp, a 10-day accelerated learning program for teens, before focusing on teaching brain-based learning strategies to adults.
