Review of worked solutions to Year 11 Advanced Mathematics Examination

Focus and Content
In this session, participants will watch as Morris discusses the solutions to the sample exam paper. The focus will be on strategies for providing student feedback and facilitating successful discussion about successful approaches to the questions.

Explanation of PD activities
Teachers will view the videos which demonstrate the worked solutions to the exam paper. They will then be doing a reflection activity which will ask them to “Please describe some moments in the video which provided ideas or insights that you will use in the classroom”. This will enable teachers to leverage the exam process and the following lessons as opportunities to set and achieve learning goals for the students.

Explanation of PD activities
In this session, teachers will be learning about the use of ICT in creating assessment tasks.
They will then be given a reflection activity asking them "How might you use some of the tips in this video when planning a Major assignment for your students?"

Qualified with an M.A. in pure mathematics and a B. Ed.
