Let's Get Started

1 hour

Speaking in front of a camera causes a lot of discomfort, even anxiety, for many people. Where do I put my hands? How do I get started? What do I say? What about my facial expressions? Do I have to remember everything off by heart? What if I make a mistake?

These are common questions asked by teachers and leaders everywhere. This course is designed to answer those questions, and more, and leave you with total Camera Confidence.

You’ll have a collection of strategies you can confidently use to speak to the camera with ease and enjoyment (yes, this can actually be fun!)

So, let’s get started.

Act Right, Think Right

1 hour

As a teacher, leader, communicator, authenticity is highly attractive. And when speaking to a camera, your ability to be-true-to-you is even more important. Even if you have all the ‘camera skills’ and ‘camera etiquette’, without true authenticity your effectiveness as a teacher will be significantly reduced. In this session we’ll talk about how to let your true self come through the camera. Also, you’ll develop your thinking so that you have the right foundation on which to build your camera skills.

Look Right, Feel Right

1 hour

How DO you look to and through the camera lens? What is the importance of your eyes and how you use them? What about communicating your emotions? How do you do that through a camera? And should they be larger emotions, or should we downplay them? And what about your clothes and presentation – does this really matter? All this and more will be explored in this session.

Move Right, Speak Right

1 hour

When speaking in front of a camera, gestures and body movements have to adjust. What do you need to do differently? Should you use hand gestures? Should you sit or stand? Can you move around? And what about your voice? Should it be louder or softer? And how fast or slow should you speak? And how to you remember all these things AND teach a really good lesson? This session is all about how to move your body and use your voice for maximum effectiveness.

Learn Right, Enjoy Right

1 hour

Have you ever watched yourself on video? It can feel awkward, right?! Yet, watching yourself is one of the quickest and most effective ways to improve your Camera Confidence. In this session you’ll learn how to get the most out of reflecting on your own video teaching, as well as being reminded of the importance of having fun on this journey.

Let's Finish Strong

1 hour

In this final session we bring all your learning together. Camera Confidence is something that can be achieved and enjoyed by all teachers, leaders, coaches and communicators. Learning to speak confidently in front of the camera requires right thinking, right actions, combined with learning from past successes and continually improving in your effectiveness. You, yes you, can truly experience Camera Confidence for yourself.
