Sessions

Creating a Grading System in Google Classroom

1 hour

This session will introduce teachers to the Gradebook page and how they can implement different grade categories and a numerical grading system for consistent grading in Classroom.

Grading with Rubrics in Google Classroom

1 hour

This session will show teachers how to create rubrics using the Google Classroom rubric creator and how to import them via Google Sheets. Teachers will also be shown how to grade using these rubrics and how this appears from the student point-of-view as well.

Grading with Goobric in Google Classroom

1 hour

This session will show how teachers can use an external Google Chrome extension called “Goobric” to grade work submitted on Google Classroom via a Google Sheet. The importance of this feature is that the rubric grades are retained in a Google Sheet gradebook.

Importing Google Forms Grades into Classroom

1 hour

This session will introduce teachers to using the Google Forms Import Grades feature for Classroom for Google Forms quizzes. This is a feature that is only available to G Suite enrolled teachers (applicable to all NSW DET teachers and other schools that have signed up for G Suite).

Using Guardian Summaries and other Parent Communication in Classroom

1 hour

This session will show teachers how to use Guardian Summaries, what can and can’t be customised in this feature and also how to effectively use the email features in Google Classroom.

Tips and Tricks for Online Learning with Google Classroom

1 hour

This session will provide a walkthrough of my working Google Classroom to introduce teachers to how I organise and administer my Google Classroom for online learning.

Andrew O'Halloran

Creator

I am a secondary high school teacher in my tenth year of teaching. I am currently teaching Economics, Business Studies, Commerce, Geography East Hills Girls Technology High School, and have taught Stage 6 Economics and Ancient History previously at Canterbury Boys' High School.

In my teaching experience thus far I have embraced new technologies for my lesson planning, delivery, reporting and assessment.

I have led a number of professional development days for teachers in our local teaching area and within the school in service of improving teacher knowledge of ICTs as well as delivering over 5000 hours of professional development to teachers through TTA.
