General Description

Explore the sensory qualities of colour, composition and collage using a variety of processes and materials such as water- colour & acrylic paint, coloured pencils and recycled papers and textiles.

Join us for a day of creative hands on exercises with a focus on informative and exploratory composition. Demonstrate how colour mixing can be developed into exciting patterns and Bauhaus inspired designs. Create further images with mixed media including fabrics from repurposed garments and textiles. Explore how composition can be exciting and collaborative.

The exercises and stimulating slide presentation of contemporary art will provide a wide range of creative colour, composition and collage possibilities linking to the visual arts years 7-12 curriculum. This practical art studio day offers sensory experiences and sharing of creative ideas in the classroom.

TTA (Teacher Training Australia) is endorsed to provide the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered Professional Development for teachers accredited at Proficient and Lead Level Teacher.

Sue Pedley


Sue is an artist and a tutor who has conducted professional training courses for art teachers in primary and secondary school for 7 years. Sue teaches drawing at College of Fine Art, the Art Workshop at University of Sydney, the National Art School and visual communication at UTS. Sue exhibits regularly in Australia and overseas, most recently in Japan in the Setouchi Art Triennial (2010) and the Echigo Art Triennial (2006).
