After a ten-year career in film publicity and marketing (Disney, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures) as National Publicity and Promotions Manager, Peita secured a scholarship to retrain as an English teacher. As a Head Teacher she leads a team of 15 educators in a comprehensive secondary high school context. In 2018 Peita received a Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award described Peita as an exemplary teacher whose ability to build rapport and challenge students to achieve their best resulted in consistently outstanding HSC results. Peita is innovative in her teaching practice and leadership approach and strategic in her planning and encourages a smarter not harder approach to English which benefits teachers and students alike.
