Sue Burvill-Shaw

Sue is a passionate and successful History teacher who aims to equip workshop participants with the skills to maximise their students' potential.

Sue Burvill-Shaw has been a classroom teacher since 1982, during which time she has taught English, History, SOSE, Religious Education and Senior Sociology in a variety of schools, both State and Private, in Queensland and Interstate. She has tutored in education at Queensland University of Technology and is a past QSA State Panel Chair for Ancient History. Sue is the co-ordinating author of the Award Winning Jacaranda World History Atlas designed to support the Australian Curriculum in History. Sue is also currently President of the Queensland History Teachers' Association.

Previously Head of Faculty: Humanities at St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School, QLD, Sue has been a regular presenter of workshops at both State, National and International Teachers’ Conferences and widely published on a range of issues, including Literacy across the Curriculum, Extending Gifted Learners and Effective History Teaching.
