General Description

This course will look at the kinds of questions that 2 Unit students will need to address to score well in the HSC. Morris will look at key HSC questions across all the major topics. We will develop insights into how best to synchronize best teaching practice with interesting insights and tips to enlighten the path for students.

Sessions

Part A

1 hour and 30 minutes

An analysis of the most recent HSC’s with A thorough consideration of how marks are are awarded and how this can inform our teaching practice.

Part B

1 hour and 40 minutes

A workshop on exponential functions and graphing. The idea is to see the connections between various parts of the syllabus. Teaching strategies for these topics will be presented.

Part C

1 hour and 50 minutes

A thorough analysis of the motion topic in 2 Unit. Together with this we will look at recent motion questions resolving the question of how best to teach the this topic.

Morris has previously occupied the position of Head of Mathematics and Mathematics Technology at Reddam House, Kincoppal Rose Bay and The Emanuel School in Sydney. Qualified with an M.A. in pure mathematics and a B. Ed. (maths), Morris has experience teaching in a wide variety of schools and has delivered many professional development courses for mathematics teachers both in Australia and overseas. Morris was recognised in 2006 with an Outstanding National Achievement for Excellence by a Teacher the National Awards for Quality Schooling. Morris has also been designated by Apple as a Distinguished Educator.
