Very helpful. Clearly explained. Would have been helpful to look a physical copies of the syllabus and potentially discuss assessment structures, etc.

Very good presentation, although it moved very quickly. A lot to take in at once. Great resources to take away and exlore later. Thank you :)

Some good suggestions for texts that could be used and activities/responses students could complete. Some good exemplar paragraphs that can be used as models.

Some very useful ideas and resources. Just a few more interactive activities between teachers would have been good as it was difficult to maintain attention. Some of the slides need editing more closesly – students would pick up on these!

Some really helpful resouces and an entertaining presentation. More practical activites – perhaps the opportunity to discuss and create resources based on the presentation.

It was interesting to broaden my knoweldge of other texts. However, all Garry achieved was talking through potential texts that he likes and that resonated with him. As teachers of the new HSC, I want to pick texts that address the gaps and sliences of our past and present. This course did not address the demands of its title.

Garry had lovely handouts with great excerpts from texts but provided little “new” knowledge ot the new HSC and didnt provide any way to “Maximise” results. Instead talked us through the excerpts which wasnt needed. A more practical approach would have been preferred where “hard” eveidence of how to get the students to write discursive, informative texts.

We travelled a long way. Would loved to have started on time. Presentation on Adv Mod A was not in as much depth as Standard. Doesnt seem fair/no easing my anxiety of teaching it.

Some good ideas in terms of teaching activities to spark student thinking on various aspects of the rubrics. Whole group expressed concern at the need (NESA’s need not the presenter’s) to be more explicit about some terms in the rubric (Notably the text modes in Mod C - “that word discusive”). I guess were were all hoping for enlightenment about what NESA intends, that just hasnt been given. One small issue – not all the materials (for Mod C) were provided to all participants.
