Teaching Standards

General Description

This half day consultancy event explores practical and quick-to-implement strategies for establishing a culture of professional reflection that helps teachers meet the Aitsl standards. Led by one of Australia’s leading teacher coaches, it provides techniques and frameworks for ensuring professional learning in your school is both supportive and focused on sustained improvement. It features:

• Easy-to understand summaries of what features of AITSL such as the classroom practice continuum means for your everyday teaching

• Data tools and apps for collecting evidence that have been successfully road-tested in schools. Models of how to present this evidence for certification.

• Classroom observation practices that foster collaborative discussions and video of actual coaching conversations

• Techniques designed specifically for classroom teachers to help them manage this process during a busy teaching schedule. Strategies for teacher-leaders on how to respond to the challenges that might emerge from within their team when implementing the standards

• Practical, data-driven ways for identifying and reaching goals and targets that will have the biggest impact on students performance given the time and workload pressures that teachers face in the everyday classroom
