Great course run by Janet. Her knowledge is invaluable. Particularly thankful for the hand outs of information to refer to. Learned further how to deconstruct images without focusing too much on TITLES.
Thank you.

Janet’s information was succinct and articulated in interesting ways. She provided a great range of images so we were able to apply information she provided to each one in a practical way. This makes it easier to apply to Stage 6 programs.q

Very intense but informative session. A few more ideas for Stage 4 would be helpful. I have lots of ideas that I can now implement in my teaching practice. Colour printouts were very helpful.

Was very informative. I learned a lot about how to structure activities for different grades in a way that links all syllabus ideas, without having to teach them independently. Learned a lot more about Art History and Architecture. Very engaging. Inspired my teaching :)

A great lens to focus my lesson planning and programming. It is able to cover a great deal of historical and contemporary art theory (making experience) to provide language in ESL art setting.

Designing Visual Arts Programs Years 7-12

As a teacher returning to teaching I found the content to be thorough, relevant, fairly easy to follow and with many visuals and images as examples. Voice over and talking to standards could have been treated differently.
I would rate the course as being very good.
There were several instances where videos would not load. There were a range of messages some suggesting I try another way of accessing the video (which also did not work) or simply not available. This needs to be addressed.

This was my first time completing an online course with Openlearning and TTA.
I like the layout it was very user friendly.
I also thought the downloading of content to complete, all being in one place in the appendix was easy to follow and use.
I had no issues downloading.
Debra was great giving me feedback which I have noted read to implement.
I like that you can make comments and talk to other students.
I think submitting the work in order to see other peoples uploads was also extremely helpful, after al we all aiming to be great teachers, so sharing was fantastic.
I am so very happy I had the extension too.

An interesting course on how to create programs, I liked the examples and videos, and the resources provided where helpful. I do feel like the layout/organisation was a little confusing, I was missing some appendixes, and some places asked you to watch a video and there was none.

Art on Trial-Strategies for Teaching Secondary Art History and Art Criticism
by Andrew Darlington on 23/10/2017

Working mainly as a casual secondary teacher, I do not get many regular opportunities to teach Visual Arts, the subject in which I am qualified. Therefore I found this course very valuable in providing ideas for teaching art history and art criticism in ways that students would find accessible and interesting.
